One of Valencia CF's most illustrious legends, Javier Subirats, has resigned for personal reasons as coach of Benidorm CD after four months on the job. The news was confirmed shortly after the defeat by 0-1 against UD Horadada, who snatched the points at the last minute.
The 62-year-old coach thus closes his journey at Benidorm CD. He took the reins of the team at the end of July, and he has seen his squad changed week by week. The results have not been promising either for the Valencian legend, leaving them second from bottom on twelve points, three from safety.
Subirats arrived this summer brought in by the new owners of Benidorm CD, the Philadelphia Fury. The incorporation of the back-room staff, led by the legend of Valencia CF, was the first brick of a project still under construction, whose results are so far, were not the expected.
The two wins in three games against Callosa Deportiva and CD Almoradí looked like it might have given Benidorm a bit of a boost at getting out of the relegation zone, but the last two defeats against bottom UD Petrelense (3-0) and UD Horadada (0-1 ) have not helped Subirats' cause.
The ex-technician of CD Buñol and CD Eldense, among others, leaves Benidorm with one game left before the end of the year. They must visit the difficult FB Redován with the firm objective of closing the gap to CD Tháder who sit just above relegation, although it will not be easy.
