Substitute Carles came off the bench to rescue a point with his two goals against a Benidorm team who were leading 0-2, a result which leaves both teams towards the bottom of the table and saw 5 debutants (2 for Murada and 3 for Benidorm) making their first appearances of the season.
There was a lot at stake in the sports center of La Murada with both teams at the lower part of the table. The match began with goalkeeper Vivancos and the winger Elias making their debuts for the home team. Vivancos arriving from the Murcian team 'Ultra Plus' also playing for Benferri CF and CD Almoradí within the past few seasons. Likewise, Elías, who comes from the neighboring Region of Murcia, also made his first appearance for his new team. Benidorm CD also had 3 debutants, Ethan, Arkaitz and Ivan who all started the match.
Not an awful lot happened in the first half, just a shot from Gonzalo that, after a save from Vivancos crashed onto the post. The first half ended 0-0 with not an awful lot of action in each area.
After the halfway point, Benidorm went ahead from a penalty scored by their captain Gio in the 65th minute. Shortly after, new arrival Ivan made it 2 with a fine solo goal, slotting the ball past the home keeper. These were the best moments by far for Benidorm who looked like they were going to take all 3 points with only 15 minutes to go. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case as on the 74th minute, Semi hit the post after the keeper Ethan got a fingertip to it, then substitute Carles scored 2 goals in 5 minutes and salvaged a point for the home team. They did push for a third but in the end, the points were shared, a result that leaves both teams lingering near the bottom of the table.
Next week, the big Benidorm derby will be played at the Guillermo Amor Stadium on Sunday.
