UD Petrelense gave joy to their fans on matchday 15 in the Regional Preferente League, with 3 points that were sealed in the last few minutes.
The need for points for both teams was felt in and around the ground. The locals set off with the clear intention of adding three vital points against a direct rival for salvation, who started off very solid. But it was in the 35th minute when Petrelense UD went ahead thanks to Franki's goal who put them ahead before going in at half time.
With the adverse result at the start of the second 45 minutes, Benidorm sought to step forward to get the equalizer as soon as possible. However, despite their offensive approach, the second goal came, entering the final stretch of the match thanks to Coti's goal. With an uphill battle for the visitors, once again they turned to attack in search of the turn-around, but Franki sealed the win by adding the second to his personal goal tally.
With this triumph, Petrelense UD sits on 9 points thanks to their second victory of the season and continues at the bottom of Group IV before traveling to Callosa Deportiva this weekend. For Benidorm CD, they currently have 12 points and welcome Horadad next weekend.
